The Australian Stony Creek frog is found solely on the east coast of Australia in subtropical or tropical areas. It is a relatively large species, growing up to 7cm long. Like many frogs, habitat loss and the destruction of spawning locations is leading to a decline in population numbers of this beautiful species.

Chytrid fungus presents a significant threat to this species, with some locales experiencing an infection rate of 28% or higher.
